Tuttle Publishing is a leading publisher of books about Asia. The company was founded in 1948 in Tokyo, Japan and Rutland, Vermont and is now based in North Clarendon, Vermont (see www.tuttlepublishing.com). It is part of the Periplus Publishing Group which has offices throughout Asia and is the largest English-language book publishing group in Asia. We have an immediate opening for an experienced Online Sales & Marketing Manager based in our Vermont office and we are seeking qualified applicants.

For the past 60 years, Tuttle has been the market leader in producing high-quality books on Asia ranging from Asian arts and crafts to Asian language learning (Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Tagalog, Hindi and others), kungfu, cooking, paper crafting, architecture, design, gardening, literature, history and multi-cultural children's books. We specialize in extremely informative books—many of them with beautiful full-color photos and illustrations—which help promote a greater understanding of Asian culture. We have an extensive backlist and produce approximately 125 new titles each year working with authors, photographers, illustrators and designers from around the world.

Asia has the fastest-growing economies in the world today, and Tuttle is expanding its marketing team in Vermont to take advantage of the increased interest in Asia in this country and around the world. This is a full-time position based in our modern offices in North Clarendon, Vermont. This is a new position whose job responsibilities will include:

● Upgrading our website to improve SEO capabilities, attract repeat customers and create online communities
● Develop and execute online SEM marketing programs and promotions to drive online sales and traffic to our site
● Work with authors and editors to generate content and copy for our website, email blasts, blogs, etc.
● Develop and execute marketing campaigns to increase sales of Tuttle’s e-books
● Develop and manage in-house consumer mailing lists and work with data companies to buy lists
● Work with our Sales and Editorial teams and authors to request and provide online content
● Develop and manage effective social media marketing for specific products
● Collaborate with consultants to develop in-house capabilities in the above areas
● Analyze sales results from online and direct-to-consumer programs to determine effectiveness and profitability


● Previous experience in e-commerce and/or direct-to-consumer sales and marketing
• Proven ability to sell and market consumer products online
● Ability to recognize, communicate and respond to new marketing and sales trends
● Strong analytical skills to manage data, create summaries and recommendations for future direction
● Experience with book sales and marketing a plus, but not a requirement
