|The University of Pennsylvania Press seeks an organized, responsible, and creative person to manage direct mail and advertising for the Press's 130+ books a year. Responsibilities include planning and trafficking all direct mail pieces; writing promotional copy and designing ads, catalogs, and direct mail pieces; evaluating and selecting vendors, freelancers, and mailing lists; planning and implementing advertising strategies. The Direct Mail and Advertising Manager will be an integral member of the marketing department, contributing to the planning and implementation of campaigns for all the Press's scholarly, general interest, and regional studies books.|
Bachelor's degree. Three to five years publishing or similar experience preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Superlative organizational and negotiating skills essential. Strong writing, editing, and computer skills, including familiarity with Filemaker Pro, Excel, InDesign. Proven experience in meeting deadlines. Knowledge of print production process.
