Independent Publishers Group (IPG) is seeking a full-time in-house sales representative for our aggressive and growing special sales department. Primary responsibilities will include selling to numerous non-traditional book accounts across a broad category range and multiple sales channels. Regular tasks will include developing specialized sales materials and pitches for niche accounts, soliciting orders from existing accounts, and prospecting for new accounts; additional responsibilities will include writing seasonal marketing/catalog copy, creating customized marketing materials for the sales department, assisting publishers with new title submissions, and working closely with publishers to maximize book sales in special markets.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years sales experience in the book industry, very strong customer service skills, be very familiar with all MS Office programs, and be able to manage multiple projects efficiently.
