Description | Publishing Business and Planning Analyst, APA Books Requisition Number 1343 Required Qualifications -Bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting or finance preferred. -A minimum of 3 years of experience in data gathering/statistical analysis, budgeting/finance and/or business analysis may substitute for a degree. -Three years of experience in advanced Excel worksheet capabilities, internal and external data collection, statistical analysis of financial and sales data and designing PowerPoint slides and charts is required. -Knowledge of accounting and budgetary processes required. -Excellent mathematical, analytical and problem-solving skills required. -Exceptional organizational, time-management and oral and written communication skills required. Description -Extracts sales data from business system to compile monthly sales, revenue and inventory reports. Prepares statistical analysis of sales and revenue trends. Compiles lists of possible reprints for review by the Production Manager and Director of Magination Press to ensure we have sufficient stock per each title’s pace of sales. Works with the Director to prepare the quarterly sales reports of print, video and electronic publications distributed to management. -Supports the Director with the collection of data and the preparation of revenue projections, expense projections, and other financial-related spreadsheets. Handles the processing of all check requests and expense reports for the department, verifying accuracy of information, obtaining authorization(s), and submitting timely to Finance. Documents all costs in expense spreadsheets, and maintains related paper and PDF files. Reconciles monthly financial activity reports. -Collaborates with the Director to verify data and set up related materials such as electronic revenue reports to be added to departmental database for annual royalty payments including calculating, proofing and preparing royalty statements, mailing statements, preparing check requests, mailing payments and tracking all contact information. -Assembles cost estimates, sales of comparable titles, projected revenue and breakeven analysis for each new title to assist with the development of pricing models by the Director for review by the Senior Director and Executive Director/Publisher. Drafts pricing announcements for review by departmental staff. Updates spreadsheets and departmental database with each new title, printing specifications, advances and royalty schedule. Coordinates the processing/payment of Author/Editor advances and Contributor honorarium according to contractual terms. -Provides administrative support to Director and Senior Director by preparing correspondence with authors, editors, and vendors as assigned, processing paperwork such as stock requests, maintaining files related to management of the programs, and other duties as assigned.
