Job Title: Product Manager
Department: Marketing
Reports to: Director,Product Management
FLSA Status: Exempt


Summary: Manage young adult within Readerlink’s trade business in regards to terms of sale, assortments, distributions, and supporting sales teams responding to customer requests.


Essential Functions: To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies to perform the essential functions of this position:

•Work with fellow employees on all levels of Readerlink as well as customers, publishers and licensors to drive young adult business.
•Prepare and review sales analysis for purchasing decisions.
•Compile and execute a profitable promotional schedule for our customers.
•Develop product plan based on sales and industry data.
•Negotiate terms with publishers.
•Create presentations based on trends and upcoming events/new releases for our customers.
•Give presentations to customers and licensors on our business.


Non-Essential Functions:

•Help build and maintain long-term relationships with our customers, publishers, and licensors.
•Must be able to handle multiple tasks and work extra hours to keep projects on schedule.
•Other duties may be assigned, directed or requested.


Qualifications:

•Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related business subject.
•Previous buying or selling experience desired.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point
•High energy level with ability to keep multiple projects on schedule.
•Working knowledge of AS400 and Space Planning by Intactix a plus.


Language Skills:

•Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Power Point.
•Ability to speak to all levels of the organization and to customers.
•Ability to create sales analysis reports and product presentations.


Mathematical Skills:

•Must have excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
•Must be able to analyze sales documents to identify trends and successful product performance.
•Must be able to maintain an inventory and sales plan, and forecast inventory needs based on current sales trends.


Reasoning Ability:

•Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
•Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.


Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

•Must be able to work in a fast paced, team environment.
