Requirements: Basic Books is seeking an experienced Publicist with a proven track record of carrying out successful publicity campaigns to join a dynamic and tight knit publicity department working on high quality nonfiction books published by both the Basic Books and Nation Books imprints.
Our ideal candidate has a minimum of 3 years experience (with part of that time preferably at the Publicist level) with an emphasis on/interest in current events, economics, history, politics, and science. Strong relationships with traditional print and broadcast media as well as online and social media, familiarity with local media in major markets, experience booking author tours, and excellent verbal and written communications skills are also a must.
