Publisher of the Year 2011, Quercus is famous for its bestselling international fiction, nonfiction, and children’s titles, including Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, The Tenderness of Wolves, The King’s Speech, Cosmos, the million-selling series 50 Ideas You Really Need To Know, and Speeches That Changed The World.

Quercus is looking for a Director of Sales, Marketing & Publicity to help oversee the launch and growth of the North American publishing program. The successful applicant will be a publishing professional with senior industry experience and a profound knowledge of marketing, publicity, and sales. This is a demanding role that will require strategic planning, outstanding leadership, and management skills; knowledge of digital channels and social media; financial acumen; great contacts in the industry; and above all, huge energy and enthusiasm to help drive a start-up operation.

Key responsibilities will include working with the Publisher to plan the marketing/publicity strategy for all of Quercus’ imprints and titles; implementing marketing campaigns across all media; managing the relationship with Quercus’ distribution partner (Random House) to ensure optimum sales performance; and monitoring and reporting all sales, marketing, and publicity activity to ensure delivery on budget and on schedule.
