The Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) is seeking a Sales and Marketing position
to report to the Director of Press. This position combines creativity and business acumen. We
are looking for someone to help raise visibility and increase sales for the CCAR Press. This
position is part of a team addressing the overall communications goals of the CCAR. Please send

Areas of Responsibility
 Print and online ad creation, placement, and timing, including social media
 Print and online catalog development
 Development and implementation of marketing plans for new books
 Development and implementation of marketing plans for seasonal promotions
 Sales to bookstores and other accounts, both wholesale and retail trade
 Managing distribution arrangements for print and digital
 Strategic planning for marketing
 Managing sales at selected conventions
 Overseeing Press sales and marketing at CCAR Convention
 Marketing and PR list development
 Help maintain CCAR and CCAR Press social media presence
 Assist overall CCAR communications messaging

Preferred Qualifications (looking for an individual who meets most if not all of these):
 Quick learner with the ability to learn new programs and processes
 Two years of experience in related field
 Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Word, Outlook, and Excel
 Ability to manage multiple tasks and set priorities
 Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
 Willingness to be flexible and to take active part in the office team
 Good social media skills
 An earned Bachelor’s degree or an earned graduate degree a plus, but not required
 Knowledge of publishing industry a plus, but not required. Familiarity with Jewish world
a plus, but not required.
