|We are immediately seeking an exceptional, hands-on leader to grow and run our University Readers Custom division in this newly created position. In this role, you will have full P&L responsibility, directly overseeing a 10+ person team that includes inside sales, account management, and production. You will also work closely with (and be supported by) our other company departments, including marketing, licensing, technology, operations, and finance. The ideal candidate has a strong background in strategy, new market/business development, product development, sales, and operations and thrives in a multi-dimensional business role.|

Strategy and Planning: develop competitive strategy; investigate new market opportunities; create and implement annual plans and goals.
Product and Business Development: launch new products and services; work closely with technology team on online application development and enhancements; build strategic alliances; form content and other partnerships; work big deals.
Sales Management: motivate, develop and drive an inside sales and account management team; create and implement sales plan; refine compensation plans; maintain high e-mail and call volume; ensure individual and team success through continuous evaluation, constructive coaching and results-oriented motivation.
Production and Operations Management: optimize production workflow; recommend and implement automation strategies to reduce manual work and increase quality control; ensure all custom projects are produced on time and within budget; maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Budgeting, Forecasting and Analysis: develop and manage budget; track and forecast sales; develop, manage, and track KPIs; analyze response and conversion rates; use data to make informed decisions about course-corrections.
Team management: recruit, hire, train, coach, manage staff for outstanding performance.
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or other relevant field; MBA preferred.
7+ years in career, with strong sales, marketing, product, and business development experience; publishing or other higher education experience preferred.
A well-rounded, analytical team player with both strategic and tactical skills, especially within an entrepreneurial environment – you’ve worn multiple hats in a growing company and love to be hands-on.
Experience managing/developing individuals and establishing positive team dynamics
High degree of self-motivation and initiative.
Incredible organizational habits; highly-polished writing and speaking skills; ability to use and manipulate data to glean insights and drive strategy.
Experience with online marketing and web technologies, including working hand-in-hand with website development and engineering teams to launch products and/or features.
Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, PPT, along CRM and ERP software experience (Salesforce, Sugar CRM, MS Dynamics, etc.). Strong faculty with 3rd party software a must – you’ll need to be comfortable using systems and working with technology.
