Boston-based children’s book publisher is currently seeking Traffic Coordinator who will be responsible for coordinating, scheduling, processing and trafficking approximately 100 print and novelty books per year from inception to completion, through using Filemaker system. This position will work closely with the sales, editorial, design and production department to ensure all books are done properly.

Key Job Functions:
• Serves as liaison between printers, sales, editorial, design and production departments to balance workloads, advocate for appropriate time-lines on projects and evaluate and assign projects.
• Organizes all internal schedules by logging jobs, trafficking activity, printer schedules and in-house production schedule in Filemaker database.
• Proofreads and trafficks proofs through editorial, sales and design departments.
• Produces and leads weekly production meetings along with morning meeting check-ins.
• Continue to improve the traffic system and production process, keeping the parts that work well and suggesting ways they can do it better.
• Accept special projects and other duties as assigned.
Ideal candidates will have:
• Excellent interpersonal skills, keen eye for detail and strong teamwork skills.
• Excellent follow-through with external printers and internal departments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills via telephone, e-mail and in-person.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to be self-directed and identify and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficient in MS Office 2010 along with Filemaker Pro 11 or later.
• Experience with Indesign, Photoshop and/or other graphic design software a PLUS!!
• Previous exposure to print publishing or other fast-paced environments (4 years experience at a mid-level position is a MUST)
