General Description:
The Editor supports the Managing Editor and senior editors with editing texts, finalizing galleys and page layouts, communication with curators and other staff, and administrative duties.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:
• Edit catalogue texts, exhibition panels and labels, and ephemeral pieces, as determined by the Managing Editor
• Maintain editorial standards and deadlines and oversee projects from initial planning state through all phases of proofreading, design layout, and bluelines
• Organize publication materials; work closely with authors, production staff, designers, and editorial freelancers
• Assist the editor of quarterly bulletin and annual journal
• Assist in editing and proofreading of annual report
• Communicating with curators and other staff
• Other projects, as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:
Experience and Skills:
• Requires two years of editing and publishing experience with art books
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Knowledge and Education:
• B.A. degree
• Background in art history and/or humanities
• Extensive knowledge of editing and publishing
