Digital and Print Development Editor
The American Counseling Association (ACA) seeks an experienced book content development editor for its print and e-book program. Reporting to the Director of Publications, the Digital and Print Development Editor will evaluate book manuscripts and prepare them for digital and/or print delivery. This position requires a capable and self-motivated individual with publishing experience in both traditional and electronic publishing to take on a key role in the Publications Department, particularly as it relates to the creation of our digital products. This position is responsible for all stages of the book development process, including author support, content evaluation, preparation of content for production, production oversight, and marketing support.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of the issues surrounding digital content rights and management and bringing new products to market in response to audience needs.

• B.A./B.S. in journalism, English, or related field
• 5+ years book publishing/content development experience
• Familiarity with the publishing process, particularly as it pertains to digital product development and content management
• Knowledge of industry standards of editorial development and production processes
• High level analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
• Clear and effective communication skills
• Excellent organization, time management, prioritization, and planning skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and adaptability
• Strong technology skills and working knowledge of e-book software (e.g., e-PUB,HTML, XML, or other content management platforms)
