Quercus Publishing, Inc. seeks a highly motivated and creative Associate Director of Publicity. The ideal candidate will have five to seven years direct publicity experience, possess superior writing skills, and be familiar with key print, broadcast, and online media.

• Develop and execute publicity plans on a full list of books, working closely with high-profile authors, the marketing, and U.S. and U.K. based editorial staffs
• Create press materials and secure media coverage (broadcast, print, internet)
• Responsible for booking multi-city tours, including bookstore, library, and other speaking engagements and signings, and media appearances in each tour city
• Along with the Director of Sales and Marketing, develop relationships with media with meetings and lunches
• Supervise team of freelance specialty publicists
• Pitch books for holiday gift round ups
• Generate semimonthly publicity reports for executive, sales, and marketing teams
• Monitor, review and adjust publicity activity and results

Required Skills/Knowledge
• Minimum four year college degree
• Minimum five to seven years direct book publicity planning and execution, including experience with fiction, mystery/thriller, nonfiction, and illustrated titles
• Strong relationships with key broadcast, print, and electronic media contacts
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Superior organizational, interpersonal, and verbal and writing skills
• Strong understanding of social media and how these platforms can be used to augment successful traditional book publicity campaigns
• Comfortable working in a small, dynamic office environment in close proximity with your colleagues
• Experience with Cision
