|The successful candidate will have the option of working from a home office, one of the company’s field offices in New York, New York or Boulder, Colorado, or from the company’s headquarters in Lanham, Maryland.|
|Rowman & Littlefield is seeking an experienced Acquisitions Editor in the field of American History. |
The successful candidate will:
--Seek out individual authors and expand Rowman & Littlefield’s co-publishing partnerships in innovative ways for both traditional print and electronic editions;
--Have demonstrated title acquisition experience (5+ years), and a flair for turning the subject of American History into successful publishing ventures for a collegiate audience;
--Possess superior editorial judgment and an ability to work independently; and
--Possess outstanding written and verbal communications skills.
--Working with individual authors, agents, and scholastic organizations to develop proposals and final manuscripts for non-textbook college materials.
--Managing ongoing relationships with current and future co-publishing partners
--Presenting new projects to the editorial board and negotiating publishing agreements.
--Overseeing the publishing process for each title, including serving as primary liaison with the production, design, marketing, publicity, and sales departments.
