Responsibilities of this position consist of serving as journal gatekeeper, processing incoming submissions, balancing editor and reviewer workloads, and coordinating peer review tasks in a Web-based environment; assigning specialty editors; coordinating special department and educational tasks for the journal; and providing customer support to system authors, editors, and reviewers. Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience; three years of related experience that includes: demonstrated ability to meet multiple deadlines within a fast paced scientific, educational, or medical publishing environment; planning and organizing systems and strong attention to detail; online manuscript submission and review systems; and posting to common social media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, others.) Experience with peer-review publication processes and familiarity with CME guidelines and protocols is a plus.
