The Premium Sales Manager will be responsible for the representation of Perseus Books Group and select distributed publisher clients to corporate and premium accounts.

Essential Job Duties:
• Prospect for new corporate and premium accounts on all levels
• Plan, prepare, and pitch frontlist and backlist titles to key promotional companies and agencies
• Maintain a strong focus on developing custom publishing accounts
• Launch premium sales partnerships with industry specific promotional reps. This includes managing information, creating and presenting title lists, developing category and seasonal promotions; managing revenue goals
• Travel to key accounts and to company launch, presales and conference meetings
• Reports to VP Gift and Special Sales

Goals & Objectives

Achieve sales forecast for area of responsibility and participate in periodic reviews of the forecast vs. actual results
• Aim to expand our presence within the channel and continue to extend the productivity from active accounts
• Develop and pitch proprietary projects to high-volume accounts in various categories
• Continue to keep a strong focus on all publishing, be on the lookout for book-specific opportunities, build database of corporate contacts, remain organized, maintain deadlines, focus on detail and participate actively in a team environment
• Create P+Ls to manage profitability of business

Desired Skills & Experience:
In addition flexibility and adaptability, the ideal candidate possesses the following skills:
• A minimum of 7 to 10 years of premium sales experience in a book publishing environment, with proven and quantifiable results
• A solid, active network of contacts
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Proven organizational skills with ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, focus on detail
• Demonstrated skill in working in a team environment, which includes a collaborative attitude
• A strong understanding of product positioning
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Extensive marketplace knowledge
• Bachelor’s Degree
