For Bloomsbury’s academic products, The Adoption Sales Assistant will support sales activities across higher education institutions and college bookstores throughout the US and Canada, working directly with the inside adoption sales team responsible for selling print and digital resources to college professors for textbook adoption.

This position will work closely with the Sales Director for Bloomsbury Academic and in-house Account Managers to:

• Liaise between customers, sales team and distribution warehouse by sending comp copies and tracking leads in sales database to result in closed/won adoptions
• Prepare and deliver reporting on sales and gap analysis that identifies key opportunities and won or lost business
• Analyze target market and competition to generate new sales leads
• Maintain and grow sales contacts through internet research and cold-calling
• Coordinate activities and enable communication between customers and warehouse with regards to paid orders and sample shipment tracking
• Assist with marketing efforts in preparation of sales tools and eblasts, as well as preparation for salesperson travel to schools and conferences
• Enables communication flow between Sales, Marketing, Production, and Editorial
• Support Sales Director and team with administrative tasks and data entry
• Other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have a keen interest in sales, marketing and publishing as well as some related experience in a support role. Bachelor degree required. In addition, s/he should be able to demonstrate the following: resourcefulness, positive/can-do attitude; sharp analytical and problem-solving skills; efficient customer service; excellent speaking and writing skills; proficiency in database management and excel spreadsheets; ability to multi-task, adapt easily, manage time efficiently, and follow through on tasks to completion.
