Barron’s is seeking an experienced Copy Writer able to produce first-rate and creative copy quickly and efficiently. You will write and participate in planning, editing, and production of all company printed promotional materials including catalogs, space ads, book cover copy, jacket copy, package copy, and miscellaneous printed promotional materials.
•Write all front-list copy for the company's twice-yearly main catalog.
•Write book cover copy, book dust jacket copy, and product package copy for all new books and related products. Edit and revise cover copy from foreign publishers for jointly published books.
•Revise, update, and periodically re-write subject catalogs annually and bi-annually.
•Write print space ads for trade magazines and consumer publications promoting new books or groups of books.
•Write and assist in the planning of miscellaneous sales brochures as needed.
•Work closely with our design, production, sales and editorial teams to maintain effective and compelling copy that reflects the Barron’s brand.
•Write press releases as required.
•Contribute to planning and scheduling of all promotional materials cited above.
•Maintain title information on web-based database and export new information and changes to distribution channels as necessary.
•Minimum four-year degree in English, Journalism, Marketing or equivalent from an accredited college/university.
•Two-five years experience writing and editing advertising and promotional copy for a book publishing company or a corporate creative services department.
• Two-five years’ prior experience working with print, advertising, catalogs, book covers and jackets.
•Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal and time management skills.
