Bantam's Crowing About Koontz
Daisy Maryles, with Diane Roback -- 1/26/98
Dean Koontz is a familiar name on our national bestseller charts, and why not, with more than 200 million copies of his 33 novels sold worldwide. Even so, this successful, prolific writer is enjoying a number of firsts with his latest bestseller, Fear Nothing. It's his first novel with Bantam, his first starred PW review (we called it "riveting") and the first time he's created a character -- Christopher Snow -- whom Koontz likes so much that he's decided to feature him in his next two novels. Bantam's first printing was 500,000 copies, and the book hit the top third of all the national charts after just four days on sale. National and local interviews, two radio satellite tours and an appearance on Tom Snyder's Late, Late Show have already happened; still on the docket is an interview on NPR's Morning Edition.
