Gurr Is New Acting Head at DK
-- 4/27/98
DK Publishing, which is still searching for a new CEO, has named Danny Gurr acting president, effective immediately. Gurr, who resigned as president of Lauriat's at the end of February, will report to David Holmes, group sales and marketing director for DK's parent company, Dorling Kindersley Holdings.
"We realize the role of CEO is crucial for the New York office, and we are moving forward in our pursuit," said Holmes. "Meanwhile, it is fortunate for DK that Danny became available to run the business during this critical time."

Gurr's appointment is for an undetermined duration, but DK emphasized that while Gurr is acting president, he "has the full backing of the board with the necessary authority to manage the business."
