Tom Wallace Starts Own Agency
-- 4/27/98
Tom Wallace, formerly an editor and more recently a partner in the Wallace Literary Agency, is starting his own agency, T.C. Wallace Ltd.
During a long career as a trade book editor, Wallace held senior posts at Putnam, Holt and Norton. In 1987 he joined the Wallace &Sheil agency and the following year became v-p of the Wallace Literary Agency in partnership with his wife, Lois.

Wallace said he wants to create a small agency that is genuinely "literary," and is particularly interested in history, biography, political and literary memoirs, serious journalism and quality fiction.

Authors Wallace has worked with on both sides of the Atlantic include Dee Brown, Alan Bullock, Alfred Coppel, Lucy Dawidowicz, Amos Elon, Sarah Gainham, Ronald Harwood, Michael Holroyd, Ved Mehta, Anthony Powell and Gerald Seymour. TCW will be based at 425 Madison Ave., Suite 1001, New York, N.Y. 10017; (212) 759-8600, fax (212) 759-9428.
