Another Big Score for Sisterhood
-- 7/27/98
While Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood continues to lead the trade paperback bestseller parade, Rebecca Wells's prequel, Little Altars Everywhere, first published in April 1996, is also climbing the charts and is among the top 20 on PW's trade paper list. HarperPerennial put a new jacket on the prequel that is similar to the Ya-Ya cover and in early August, more than 2000 mixed displays are going up in stores. On July 28, the author will appear on Good Morning America, and radio ads are running in 11 markets throughout the month. Meanwhile, Little Altars has 261,000 copies after 27 trips to press; for Ya-Ya, the number is up to 919,000 after 31 printings.
