Josh Marwell has been named v-p, director of trade sales at HarperCollins. He was v-p of sales at Little, Brown for four years; prior to that he held the same position at St. Martin's Press, where he had worked for 13 years, starting as a sales representative. Marwell -- who will report to Therese Burke, president of general book sales -- will supervise all field sales, national accounts, mass merchandise sales and clubs.

Also at HC, Geoff Colquitt was named director of mass merchandise sales. He held the same title at Dorling Kindersley and before that was national field sales manager for Penguin USA. He will report to Marwell.

In a third appointment, Lisa Herling was named director of corporate communications. Herling, formerly with Barnes &Noble, will handle media relations, internal communications and corporate giving.
