Gregory Osberg has been named president of the professional division of Kaplan Educational Centers. Prior to his new appointment, Osberg had been president of sales and marketing for the online operation Computer Network and Snap Online (CNET). Osberg will report to Kaplan president Jonathan Grayer.

Kaplan, a subsidiary of the Washington Post Co. recently formed the professional unit to meet the growing demand for professional recruitment, selection and training services. The unit includes Kaplan Career Services, HireSystems, Dearborn Publishing Group (which Kaplan acquired last summer for $35 million), Perfect Access and Kaplan@Work. The new unit has annual sales of approximately $75 million, about 25% of Kaplan Educational Centers' total revenues of $300 million.
