Following the company's recent acquisition by Taylor &Frances, a number of staff at Routledge U.K. have been laid off or decided to leave. Latest and most senior of those departing is managing director David Hill, who joined the company from Sage in 1996 when it parted from International Thomson.

Hill told PW that his role has changed with the integration of Routledge into the T&F group, and he concluded that it was time to move on. He is planning a short sabbatical before returning to the publishing fray.
