Creative Publishing International, which is seeking to boost its sales through the retail channel (News, July 19), has hired two new executives to enhance its efforts. Kevin Haas was named director of trade sales and will be responsible for overseeing the company's trade, mass market, export channel and remainder sales. He previously held positions as sales representative at Ballantine, national sales manager at St. Martin's Press and vice-president of sales at Penguin Putnam.

In the second appointment, Rich Miller was named director of channel sales. Miller will direct CPI's sales efforts to nontraditional markets, including home and garden, outdoor, and fabric and craft. He had held director of sales positions at both Hometime Publishing and Sunset Books and was founder of Somerset Publishing.
