Schneider to Talk Miramax
-- 2/21/00

Kathy Schneider, who has been with Random House since 1990 and is currently v-p, marketing director for the Information Group, is moving to Talk Miramax Books as publishing director, a new position.

Schneider, who begins her new job next month, has been involved with a number of notable marketing campaigns at Random, including ones for Jon Krakauer's books, Sally Bedell Smith's book on Princess Diana and books by former President Jimmy Carter and Rev. Jesse Jackson. She had also worked at Random for Villard and Fodor's Travel Guides.

Of her new position, Schneider commented: "Talk Miramax's unlimited access to cross-media opportunities makes it ideal for creative, multi-level marketing programs."

Talk Miramax, launched just over a year ago as an offshoot of Talk magazine and Miramax Pictures--and with access to both for its publishing projects--is publising its first list this spring. Jonathan Burnham, with whom Schneider will work closely, is editorial director.
