iPublish.com to Offer Content Via Bookface.com
Calvin Reid -- 8/28/00

Looking for ways to promote its content through the Web, iPublish.com, Time Warner's e-publishing venture, has entered into an agreement with Bookface.com to make Time Warner books available for free through Bookface.com's site. Bookface.com is an ad-supported publishing site that offers free, full-text browsing of online content (E-Publishing, May 22).

Under the agreement, iPublish.com will make a wide variety of the Time Warner Trade Publishing backlist accessible through the Bookface.com Web site. Bookface.com titles have banner advertising on every page and the site will pay a percentage of its ad revenues to iPublish.com based on how many banners are displayed during a reader's stay at Bookface.com.

The site's proprietary technology allows readers to bookmark, make notes and conduct searches online.

Gregory Voynow, v-p and general manager of iPublish. com, said the licensing deal is "a win-win for all parties involved. It's an especially strong opportunity for certain kinds of genre fiction that might get overlooked in traditional e-book channels."

Tammy Deuster, CEO and co-founder of Bookface.com, said the agreement was an innovative way "to develop new publishing opportunities."

Among the Warner titles to be offered through Bookface.com are The $100,000 Club: How to Make a Six-Figure Income by D.A. Benton; Freezer Burn by J R. Lansdale, Run Jane Run by Katherine Stone and Blue Collar Blues by Rosalyn McMillan.
