George Sosson has been named president and publisher of Dorchester Publishing. He succeeds Lisa Rasmussen, who has left the company. Rasmussen was named president and publisher of the paperback house last spring (News, May 8, 2000). Dorchester's main imprints are Love Spell and Leisure Books.

Sosson will report to John Backe, principal owner of Dorchester, who praised him as "an excellent manager with a proven track record as an entrepreneur." Sosson's track record, however, has been in radio broadcasting, not publishing. Sosson most recently served as senior v-p/east at Clear Channel Communications. Prior to that, he was managing general partner of Radio Equity Partners LP.
