It's rare that a book of poetry hits the national hardcover charts, so it's particularly impressive that a collection of poetry makes it to the #4 spot on the hardcover fiction list, ahead of five other fiction debuts in a very competitive week. But this collection, The Best-Loved Poems of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, selected and introduced by Caroline Kennedy, has the right name attached—any book that has Jacqueline as its author or subject consistently generates strong sales. Hyperion has gotten major print and broadcast coverage including appearances by Caroline Kennedy on Today, Good Morning America and Rosie O'Donnell. She signed more than 700 copies at Barnes & Noble's Union Square store in New York City, and a week later, at R.J. Julia's in Connecticut, she signed another 1,000. Total copies in print after two trips to press: 200,000.
