This year's National Book Awards will feature a silent auction of artwork by children's book illustrators, to benefit the Windows of Hope Family Relief Fund, an organization that aids families of World Trade Center food-service workers who died in the September 11 terrorist attacks.

The event is being coordinated by an ad hoc committee of editors from a number of children's publishers that has organized itself around the theme "Find Comfort in Books, Read Together." The committee has assembled nearly 40 pieces of donated art, which will be auctioned on November 14, 7:15—8 p.m. A complete list of the artwork for sale can be viewed at www.nationalbook.org.
