Alison Gross has been named v-p and publisher of Fodor's, succeeding Kris Klieman, who is leaving the company. Gross will report to Bonnie Ammer, president of the Random House Information Group, which includes Fodor's.

In making the announcement, Ammer said Gross's mandate "is to continue to enhance our core series while strategically exploring ways to further develop our content for both our new channels of distribution and the next generation of travelers." Gross began her career at Crown in 1984, served a stint as director of marketing at Fodor's, and most recently was an executive in the Random House sales group.

In another appointment within the information group, Fabrizio La Rocca has been appointed v-p and creative director. La Rocca had been creative director at Fodor's.

In his new position, La Rocca will oversee the creative branding efforts for Living Language, Random House Puzzles and Games, Random House Reference and Random House Espanol. Among his accomplishments at Fodor's was helping to create the Fodor's.com Web site and he has also been involved with the development of e-books. He will report to Ammer.
