In an effort to cover a broader range of titles in trade book publishing, Publishers Weekly has announced that it will begin reviewing a greater number of adult nonfiction books. This will allow the magazine to expand reviews in a number of areas, among them illustrated books, self-help and reference. The additional reviews will be available on the magazine's Web site, www.publishersweekly.com, in a new section called "The Reviews Annex."

"By expanding our coverage, we will be more useful to booksellers and librarians," said Jeff Zaleski, PW Forecasts editor. "We realized that we can take advantage of the Web to give us more virtual page space—we expect to double our current nonfiction reviewing. This fulfills our mission to help more books connect with an audience. The reviews on the Web will conform to the same standards as those in the magazine." Barnes&Noble.com and Amazon.com are among the first to license these additional reviews.

PW also announced that Emily Chenoweth has been hired to manage the additional online reviewing, reporting to Zaleski. Chenoweth has been working for PW as a part-time Forecasts editor for nearly a year. Prior to that, she was with Brill's Content.
