At a time when the hunt for serial killers is unhappily current news, Warner's Rick Horgan has just signed a book by a top FBI expert in the area. He's Roger Depue, former chief of the agency's Behavioral Sciences unit, and a man who advised author Thomas Harris on Red Dragon. He has also had a rich and varied life, including a period as a police chief, a SWAT team member and founder of the noted forensics think tank The Academy. In an entirely different part of his life, he has been a seminarian, a missionary brother and a counselor to inmates of Death Row. All this has led to a book called Between Good and Evil: Meditations from a Life Spent Stalking the Serial Killer, which he'll write with Susan Schinderhette of People. Horgan paid a major six figures for world rights to Frank Weimann at the Literary Group and plans to publish sometime next year.
