T. Jefferson Parker, who won an Edgar for his Silent Joe, is moving from Hyperion to Morrow in a two-book deal said to be worth nearly $1 million. It was negotiated by agent Robert Gottlieb at Trident Media group with Morrow publisher Michael Morrison for North American rights. The first of the two new books to star Merci Rayborn, the odd-woman-out Orange County police detective featured in previous books, will appear in mid-2004.
