Spoken-word publisher Oasis Audio has launched its new Oasis Kids! line of children's audiobooks with the November releases of Tell Me the Story of Jesus and The One Year Bible for Children, both by V. Gilbert Beers and published in print by Tyndale. The Carol Stream, Ill., company, owned by Domain Communications, plans to "offer top-quality audio products for children," according to publisher Edward Elliott, and is in the process of acquiring new titles. The company has not yet determined how many titles it will release annually. Oasis Kids! will release a second Tell Me the Story of Jesus recording in April and six audio titles adapted from the classic Boxcar Children Mysteries book series by Gertrude Chandler Warner in May.

The Oasis Kids! imprint marks one of the first projects led in part by Paul Rush, who became director of marketing for Oasis in October. Rush was the founder and former CEO of the now-defunct Texas-based audiobook retail chain Earful of Books; Earful abruptly closed its headquarters and corporate-owned stores in April and filed for bankruptcy in June (News, Apr. 29; June 19). Rush remains in Texas, commuting to the Oasis offices three days per week.
