SkillSoft, a firm specializing in e-learning courseware and the parent company of Books24x7, has integrated its online book content and courseware offered through Books24x7 into its SmartForce e-learning platform. Books24x7, which offers subscription access to online technical reference texts, was acquired by SkillSoft in late 2001. SmartForce, which merged with SkillSoft in 2002, offers an e-learning platform that manages and tracks individual learning activities.

The integration of Books24x7 content with SmartForce will give SkillSoft's customers access to the 3,000-plus book titles and reports offered online through Books24x7. Now, said Books24x7 general manager John Ambrose, SmartForce learners "can enhance the learning experience by referencing any title in Books24x7 through the MySmartForce learning platform."
