A book originally published in Michigan by a local author—through a friend whose company sells worms—got the attention of Warner's Amy Einhorn through a mention by local bookseller Tom Lowry in PW Daily, with the result that she will publish it as a Warner trade paperback next January. It's a collection of nonfiction stories by Cheryl Peck, who describes herself as "a gay Erma Bombeck." The book is called Fat Girls and Lawn Chairs, and Einhorn says it is "funny, touching and wonderfully written, about the misadventures of a woman of size."
