The superstar performer has become the latest celebrity to enter the kids' market, via a series of five illustrated storybooks aimed at six-year-olds and up that she is doing for Callaway Editions—which has in turn signed with the Penguin Group for world English-language rights. The deal, some time in the making, was done via Andrew Wylie at his own agency and calls for Penguin USA to distribute Callaway's books here, and Puffin in the U.K. to publish in the rest of the English-speaking markets. Translation arrangements are not yet complete. The first title, called The English Roses, is to appear in September. Each book will be illustrated by an internationally known artist, though no names have been disclosed so far.
