Japanese author Koji Suzuki had a huge two-million-copy hit at home with his eerie The Ring, which became a Japanese movie, then a scary DreamWorks pic here last year. Now he has written Loop and Spiral, two sequels, and agent Jimmy Vines, in cooperation with the author's Japanese agent and publisher, has sold them both here to a new house in New York specializing in translations of Japanese bestsellers. It's called Vertical, and its first book, earlier this year, was a Ring translation, also sold by Vines. Editorial director Ioannis Mentzas made the North American rights buy of the two new thrillers.
