Ah, that Potter lad's influence is everywhere. For Putnam's release of White Death, the fourth entry in Clive Cussler's NUMA Files series (written with Paul Kemprecos), the on-sale date was moved forward—from June 23 to June 20—to capitalize on the "Wild About Harry" readers who were thronging the stores that weekend. Though Cussler won't be touring for this latest bestseller (he'll be hitting the road come fall for A Trojan Odyssey, the newest Dirk Pitt caper), that clearly isn't slowing down the sales velocity (debuting at #5 this week) or sterling reviews—"readers will find all their expectations extravagantly fulfilled," said PW. Copies in print total 425,000.
