Jack Canfield, one of the masterminds of the phenomenally successful Chicken Soup series—and one of the greatest of author/salespeople—has signed for a new book called The Success Principles with Stephen Hanselman, publisher of business imprint HarperResource. It is a world rights deal, made with agent Bonnie Solow at Solow Literary Enterprises in L.A., and Harper will publish the book worldwide in English in January 2005. Hanselman said he would seek to establish the book as a top bestseller and a platform for a likely series. It will be co-written with Janet Switzer, who has worked with Canfield for the past 10 years and who will participate in its marketing; Resource editorial director Megan Newman will be the book's editor. The Chicken Soup series has sold more than 80 million books worldwide and Canfield, a widely syndicated columnist, will also be launching a national radio show next year.
