Random House has announced the winner of the 2003 Delacorte Prize contest for a first young adult novel. Wings by Julie Gonzalez will be published by Delacorte Press Books for Young Readers, an imprint of the Knopf Delacorte Dell division of Random House Children's Books. Wings was selected from more than 500 entries and is about a 16-year-old boy who believes he is meant to fly. The book will be published in 2005. Another manuscript submitted by the author for the contest, Connor Kaeden's Book of Dreams, was selected as a finalist and will also be published by Delacorte.
