M.G. Vassanji has won the 10th anniversary Giller Prize, Canada's top fiction award. Vassanji won for The In-Between World of Vikram Lall, published by Doubleday Canada. The novel, which explores the racial tension of Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion in the mid-1950s, will be published by Knopf in the U.S. next fall. Knopf has no plans to accelerate its release. Vassanji won the inaugural Giller Prize in 1994 for The Book of Secrets.
