The multi—award-winning and bestselling rock group Metallica is about to get the kind of recognition only a handful of musical entities achieve—Broadway executive editor Charles Conrad has signed the band to do its first-ever, group-endorsed scrapbook for the house. It was a deal for world and serial rights, signed with agent Lydia Wills at Writers and Artists International, which also represents its members for personal appearances. The book will be edited by Steffan Chirazzi, who edits the group's fan club magazine, So What!; the book has the provisional title So What! The Metallibook by Metallica. It will include more than 1,000 pictures, handwritten entries by various members, roundtable discussions and much material from the magazine. It's scheduled for publication next August, at a time when Metallica is on a major North American and European tour.
