Veteran movie director Martin Scorsese and actor Robert De Niro, with whom he has made some of his most memorable films, are jointly writing an account of their long personal and professional relationship, covering more than 30 years, and Harmony publisher Shaye Areheart has signed for world rights. She reportedly paid well into seven figures for the untitled book, in which the pair will offer an account, crowded with anecdotes and personal stories, of a partnership Scorsese has compared to "a professional marriage," which has so far produced eight movies, including such classics as Mean Streets, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull and Goodfellas. The deal was made with Alan Nevins at the Firm in Beverly Hills, who represents both men.
