Fred Grayson, founder of the book packager American BookWork Corp., has formed Webster House Publishing, which will focus on the development of test preparation guides. The company has already released four titles for the Connecticut Academic Performance Tests and plans to release nine Connecticut mastery titles in June and July.

Grayson said he will continue to package between six to eight books per year, while publishing about 15 titles under the Webster House imprint. In addition to producing test prep books, Grayson will publish reference books, skills books, cookbooks and how-to titles. Due out soon are Vocabulary Power and Writing with Style.

The books are being sold to the trade by Continental Sales and distributed by Weatherhill. Although geared for the bookstore market, Grayson said the prep guides are doing well at public schools as well. Grayson hopes to add two more Northeast states to the test prep series before the end of the year.
