Vivian Antonageli has been named chief operating officer of Brighter Child Interactive. Antonageli will oversee the company's current multimedia software business and work to launch a full-fledged kids' book publishing program at Brighter Child.

Antonageli said books from the new list will begin to appear in spring 2005; the new publishing program will launch in April 2005 with about 20 titles. The house is currently negotiating a "major licensing opportunity," she said, but declined to name the company until negotiations are finalized. She said the program would publish "a variety of books," including educational titles, reading series and interactive titles. "The objective is to create products that are in line with the company's expanding plans in multi-media software," said Antonageli.

Before joining Brighter Child, Antonageli was sales director at Riverdeep's Learning Company Books unit. She has also worked for Reader's Digest, Penguin, Putnam and Random House.
