In a move to improve operating efficiencies, Pearson is closing its warehouse in La Vergne, Tenn., that houses product for its DK subsidiary and will transfer the inventory to a Pearson distribution center in Lebanon, Ind. Pearson will begin moving all inventory and warehousing functions out of La Vergne in July and expects to complete the transition by September. The La Vergne facility employs 101 people, and a company spokesperson said eligible employees will be offered outplacement services and a chance to apply for jobs elsewhere within Pearson, although no one will be transferred to Lebanon.
