Riding high on the bestseller charts with The South Beach Diet (#2 on PW's nonfiction hardcover list in week 65) and The South Beach Diet Cookbook (#8 in week 13), Rodale adds a third winning title—The Abs Diet: The Six-Week Plan to Flatten Your Stomach and Keep You Lean for Life. Written by Men's Health editor-in-chief David Zinczenko with Ted Spiker, the book has 72,500 copies in print after three trips to press. Rodale's publicity plans include a three-part weight-loss challenge on Good Morning America (July 5 and 20 and August 18); a TV satellite tour and a radio tour; and two eight-page excerpts in Men's Health magazine (July/August and September issues). More book/magazine synergy will include an e-mail and newsletter blitz to Menshealth.com subscribers and print ads in Men's Health and other Rodale publications.
